"Meta" is a prefix and means "behind" or "hidden". Meta implies the part of something that is not immediately visible, in the background; however, it exists and has an effect.

Metaphysics (Meta (ta) Physica, or "following (the) Physics) originated from the treatise called First Philosophy or Theology, followed by the treatise of Physics."

Aristotle's works by Andronicus (the Greek Peripatetic Philosopher of Rhodes about 70 BC in Rome) included the following: Substance, Causality, the Nature of Being, and the Existence of God. For centuries these subjects have defined the content of metaphysical speculation.

Medieval Scholastic Philosophers declared Metaphysics to be "Trans-physical Science".

At the end of the 19th century scientists demanded scientifically founded methodologies with logical consistency, measurability, predictability and the ability for reproduction. During the past century Sheldrake, Capra, Bohr, Wheeler, von Neumann, John Mack, Buckminster Fuller and of course Einstein and several others, will be remembered forever with their unique contributions in this regard.

Modern Metaphysics, however, still remains difficult to define. It is comprised of complex synergy of many scientific disciplines including psychology, mathematics, parapsychology, cosmology, PSI, Vibrational Medicine and consciousness research. In addition, metaphysics became a part of a terrain, which pushes through new ground, terminology and discovery. It requires constant expansion of knowledge and re-definition.

Metaphysical Science today is non-denominational, exciting and stimulating. It widens the horizon and encourages progressive development.

It is not for the small-minded.

"When two philosophers are having a discussion and don't understand one another, it's called Metaphysics, and if they don't understand themselves what they are talking about is called "Higher Metaphysics".
